Who, What, Where and Why.

 

We are 3 local people passionate about all things  crafty.  We realised that there was a lack of local market places for small business people to sell their handmade products, so we put our minds together and formed The Lizard Market.

We looked into where we could hold a more central market and the best place was Omokoroa Settlers Hall.  Not only are we lucky to be able to host a LOCAL market, but be able to use this amazing, indoor facility.

​

It was important to us that we had a good range of quality hand-made products and also be able to support small businesses who wanted to promote their products too.  We have grown over the last year and now have over 70 stall holders and numbers are still increasing !!

​

We also invite a local community group to hold a BBQ Sausage sizzle fundraiser, to raise much needed cash/awareness for their group/cause.  The Lizard Market bought their own BBQ which fundraisers can use (easier for everyone).

​

It is also great that we have  a growing produce selection at our market.  You can find a range of plants, flowers, food, honey and ice-cream and most recently donuts.....YUM. There is an small seating area where you can enjoy you coffee/food and you can also leave your hubby/partner while you shop!

We are very grateful to all our stall holders for their support and also the local community for coming down every month and supporting their local market.
